While looking for a new place to live here in Singapore, New Futura quickly moved to the top of the my list. Looking for a place to live here can be one of the most frustrating things about living in this country. It’s not like other places where you’ve got a lot of real estate options to choose from. Want to live in the country? That’s not really going to work here. Want to buy a really large house because you’ve got a large family? Again, not likely here unless you’ve got a huge pile of money lying around.
If you want to live in a nice place here, you’re going to live in a condo. That’s all there is to it. In a small country like this where almost the entire place is a large urban city, there’s simply not a lot of options other than moving into a high rise and making it work. It’s also an expensive endeavor because this city is expensive. It’s filled with high dollar foreigners too, most of whom work for large multinational banking firms, and you can be sure they’ve got deep pockets to make the prices of everything go sky high.
I had some money to work with, and New Futura seemed like a winner. It met my modest needs pretty handily. The main thing I was looking for was a location that worked with my job location. I also wanted a place near to the restaurants and bars I frequent in my off hours. New Futura met all those needs quite handily. When I told my friends at work that I was lining up a new condo, and told them where it was, they were all very jealous! They asked if I could help get them into the building and I don’t even live there yet! It’s that nice.
